normally keen eyes regard the man across from him with passive interest. he didn't seem familiar, not particularly threatening, so, greyson gives him a cool smile.

his pokemon takes center stage, and, begins the battle appropriately. bulbs fire outwards from her form, the LEECH SEED arcing to cling onto, and absorb the life of the fighting-type.

preparation was the key to success.

There's a horrible slurping sound as Psellia sucks TOXIC drool back into her mouth, swallowing the CORROSIVE concoction. But where the POISON might prove debilitating for any other creature, it provides a source of HEALING for the Breloom to counteract the seeds that leech away at its life force.

On the surface, there is not much change but for a slight sway to Breloom's stance. It readies its fungal fists, eager.

"hmm."

greyson blinks at the brelooms lack of movement, but continues his assault anyways. maybe he was missing something?

the sand around bec begins to glow, and the EARTH POWER summons boulders of rocks, no bigger than a human head, to lob in the fighting-types direction.

Though somewhat nullified by the grass, Breloom's additional poison-typing left it somewhat susceptible to the earth's power. Gavin gives a quick, concise click of tongue against teeth.

Her species were known for their martial prowess and quick punches, which Psellia proves by countering the thrown boulders with SKY UPPERCUTS that shatter them before they can land.

Though seeds sap her health, she seems no worse for wear.

SKY UPPERCUTS shatter the sand boulders, breaking them into debris that clouds the air like smoke. using it as a psuedo-cover, she summons vibes from beneath her shell and races them towards the breloom, hoping to MEGA DRAIN its life away.

With no way to physically counteract the draining attack, Psellia is forced to endure it. She does so with apparent ease, barely flinching thanks to the toxins that surge through her system and counteract nature's verdant influence.

Drool seeps from her mouth and shimmers. With little warning, she shambles forward and attempts to inflict her opponent with the same TOXIC concoction.

It's not the most entertaining battle; she's built to stall, not for flashy finishers. Gavin watches with vague interest, studying the turtle's movements.

the MEGA DRAIN and LEECH SEED do little to slow, or even perturb the pokemon. what the hell kind of constitution did it have? a +5?

there isn't time to ponder as it goes on the offensive, for the first time. like some sort of possessed creature, or perhaps even a zombie, it stumbles forward and pours a foul smelling liquid onto the grotle. her skin blisters, and boils, as she becomes POISONED.

with little else to do, she reaches out with a mighty CRUNCH! chomp. chomp.

Psellia cries out as the Grotle crunches down on one of its limbs; the cry is strangled and gurgles past the toxin that continuously drips from her open mouth.

It shimmers as it drips down her front like some sort of ACIDIC ARMOR. Grotle would feel its jaws struggle with their purchase as the fungal flesh of the corrupt Pokemon toughens beneath its hold.

POISON HEAL continues to surge.

as teeth dig into flesh, it hardens like an amorphous steel. not wanting to let the creature go, with the close proximity allowing her to ensure she hits, more vines surge out to MEGA DRAIN the held pokemon.

Vines lash out and curl around her short arms, preventing the boxer from doing what she does best. She thrashes furiously in the Grotle's grip but can't manage to free herself, held fast as her energy is sapped.

A sharp whistle from Gavin halts her futile struggle.

He clicks his tongue to redirect her on the offensive and a VENOSHOCK would surge its way through the Grotle's system, capitalizing on the poison within its veins.

vitality, strength and endurance are sapped from her beneath the VENOM DRENCH, and eventually, she loses the ability to keep the breloom held in her jaw. she surges outwards again, hoping to use another round of MEGA DRAIN to restore what she has lost.

but that wasn't looking to be likely.

Toxins take hold within her foe and Psellia wriggles free of the restraining vines, shuffling back from the Grotle's grip. Her calm returns with her freedom, fungal fists raised in a defensive posture.

But it's little more than a FACADE; she goes on the offense with a sudden series of strikes that pull upon the poison burning through her own bloodstream to bolster their strength. Her fists are practically a blur to the human eye; Gavin's still got bruises on his torso from their last impromptu sparring match.

bec roars in pain from the onslaught, but her SHELL ARMOR keeps her from taking too much damage. the tough exterior of her kind was no joke. still, bruised and beaten, and noticeably weakened beneath the VENOM DRENCH, she needs to heal. her form glows a light green as the SYNTHESIS takes effect.
